Shuffle Up and Deal!

Hi this is Jason Williams From Pokerheavy.com and I'm here to help you with your game and me with mine because I think my chips have cobwebs!

I am an experienced poker player who has had about 6years experience playing on and off. Sure it's just a hobby but it has been a damn profitable one and I'm proud of it. The truth though is the best lesson I could ever teach you is your never going to be done learning poker. The second best is that you will always make some stupid mistakes. The sooner you get accustomed to those two facts the sooner you will be able to enjoy and profit from poker. This is our introductory series and I will be writing this mini series as 5 articles posted every other day. So big welcome to you all pull up your chair and play.

Step 1: Choose your goals.
How and why you play poker are uterly intwined. Are you trying to get rich, or just having a good time? Are you playing to win or just playing to play? We all have differant motivations that Drive us to play the game. None of them are right and none of them are wrong but by choosing the general direction that you choose your self the more likely that you'll wind up happier for playing. I am pretty sure that most of you would agree with me that it is a lot more fun choosing to win! Of course it takes more discipline, talent and time, but above all it takes honesty!

"And this above all to thine own self be true
and it must follow, as night the day, though canst be false with any man"
-Polonius(from Hamlet)
